arctic air really not to be found anywhere close to the u.s. right now. that's one of the problems, snow lovers, that we don't have an abundance of cold air to work with. we have marginal cold air. with elevations to the west, as this upper storm approaches, we are going to see it produce some snow but at the lower elevations it's too warm. so i'm calling today's low rain and snow. you notice a tornado watch in areas of southeastern georgia in the warm environment from the storm system coming in our direction. let me show you the futurecast. the clouds will be thickening up this morning. by lunch time some snow in the west virginia mountains, straddling the virginia boarder west of i-81, west of charlottesville. we'll have showers off to the south overspreading the region during the early afternoon. they'll pick up in intensity and coverage here late afternoon, early evening. so this is why the commute home doesn't look so good. and i-81 west, we're looking at potential for a little bit of snow falling during the day and the evening hours. by 9:00, we're

outside on our michael & son weather camera, showing the u.s. capitol building. temperature in town 35 with calm winds, mostly cloudy skies. the dew point 26 giving us a relative humidity of 70%. we're not too cold except places like buffalo. at would on the edge -- on the wa on the edge -- ottawa on the edge of it. 6 below zero. 58 in dallas. warmer time over the next few daitz with the clouds still moving generally west to east across the country. we do have another little clipper coming across wisconsin this morning toward northwestern illinois. this could produce a few flurries around here late today, tonight. looks like that will be passing to our north. when clippers pass to our north, they don't do much for us. you'll notice this one that came through. had a tough time dropping much east of the mountains. so on the futurecast, we'll look at this scoot quickly to the east. we stay with partly to mostly cloudy skies today, highs in the mid-40s. tonight is not going to be too bad. partly cloudy. could be more snow showers in the mountains, especially tonight.
